MALIBU, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team saw its four match winning streak snapped by No. 43 Pepperdine. The Waves defeated the Rebels 5-2 on Thursday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. The Rebel netters fell to 4-2 while the Waves improved to 2-3.

Pepperdine jumped to a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point.

In singles, the Rebels won two matches, one of which was a tiebreaker. Alexandr Cozbinov downed Stefan Menichella 6-4, 6-3 at no. 2 and Evaldo Neto defeated Gabriel Sidney 2-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) at court six.

At the top spot Jakob Amilon had three match points, but ultimately fell to Guilherme Hadlich losing 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5).

The Rebels will return to the Fertitta Tennis Complex on February 19 and are set to host Hawai'i. Doubles play will begin at 11 a.m. and admission to all UNLV home matches is free of charge.
