Lady Rebels Fighting For Final Tournament Bye...
Thanks to Wednesday's win over Boise State, the Lady Rebels moved themselves back into fifth place in the Mountain West standings with just two games left to play in the regular season. The top five teams in the league get a bye on the first day of next month's Mountain West Tournament, which gives UNLV no room for error in their bid for a top-five spot. Holding onto that fifth spot will be a challenge for the Lady Rebels on Saturday, as they take on the Wyoming Cowgirls in Lamarie, a place the Lady Rebels have only won at twice in the last 11 years, and not since the 2011-12 season.
UNLV is also looking for a season of Wyoming for the first time since the 2003-04 season, following a 66-37 win over the Cowgirls in the first meeting this year. Wyoming always plays tough on its home court though, and it will be Senior Day for the team as well.
UNLV will look to push its advantage on the boards, as it outrebounded the Cowgirls 48-29 the first time around, and that was without senior center Aley Rohde (7.9 rpg), who missed the game with an ankle injury. UNLV ranks top 10 nationally in rebounds and offensive rebounds.
