STANFORD, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 2-over-par 282 on Friday and is in fourth place after 36 holes at The Goodwin, which is being played at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6,727 yards).
UC Davis remained the team leader and extended its margin to 10 shots at 11-under 549 after a tournament-low 8-under 272 during the second round. Host Stanford is second at 1-under, followed by Colorado in third at even par. The Rebels are 2-over for the tournament, while there is a tie for fifth between Stanford's "B" team and Oregon at 4-over.
There are a total of 26 teams competing.
Individually, UC Davis' Luke Vivolo continues to lead the field by just a shot. He sits at 8-under 132 after a second-round 3-under. Oregon's Aaron Wise is second at 7-under, followed by a three-way tie for third at 5-under that includes UNLV sophomore John Oda. Oda shot a second-round 3-under 67.
Rebel senior Zane Thomas is also in the top 10 as he is tied for 10th at 1-under. He was 2-over during the second round.
Other Rebels: freshman Harry Hall is tied for 22nd at 2-over after a second-round even par, sophomore Ben Davis (playing as an individual) is tied for 37th at 4-over after a second-round 1-over, sophomore Shintaro Ban is tied for 62nd at 6-over after a second-round 3-over, while senior AJ McInerney is tied for 123rd at 15-over after a second-round 5-over. There are a total of 138 golfers competing.
