UNLV Tournament Notes

UNLV Looks For MW Finals Appearance…

After Tuesday night's upset of third-seed Boise State, the Lady Rebels are just one win away from reaching its second-ever MW Championship Game. However, standing in their path is second-seed Fresno State who won both matchups with UNLV in the regular season.

Both games did come down to the final minute, with the Bulldogs winning by four on their home court and taking a five-point win in Las Vegas on Feb. 6.

UNLV and Fresno State are meeting for the second time in MW Tournament play. In 2014, the seventh-seeded Lady Rebels fell to the second-seed Bulldogs 80-65 in the quarterfinals. Only two current Lady Rebels played in the game, seniors Aley Rohde and Amie Callaway, and they combined for 10 points. For Fresno State, Brittany Aikens, Moriah Faulk and Toni Smith are the current players that appeared in the game, all came off the bench.

The last time UNLV reached the MW Championship Game was in 2002.
