LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team rounded out its doubleheader action strong, blanking Southern Utah 7-0 on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 11-9 overall while the Thunderbirds fell to 0-16.

UNLV blanked Southern Utah in doubles to secure the team point. Jakob Amilon and Ruben Alberts eased by Ryan Andrus and Jacob Nelson 6-0 at the top position. Richard Solberg and Alexandr Cozbinov whitewashed Branden Olcott and Ben Yeacker 6-0 at the middle of the lineup. Rounding out the action was Rhett Boss and Charlie Croxford, downing Joshua Coen and Peyton Garnett 6-2. The hosts also swept in singles, winning five matches and taking a tiebreaker.

Croxford took down Olcott 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4; Cozbinov beat Nelson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1; Solberg defeated Coen 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3; Alberts posted a win against Andrus, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; Boss took a 6-2, 6-2 win over Yeacker at No. 5; and Peter Horvath outlasted Garnett 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(10-8) on court six.

The Rebels will return to the Fertitta Tennis complex on Sunday to wrap up regular season play against Air Force, starting with doubles at 12 p.m. PT. Admission to all UNLV home matches is free of charge.
