Blazak Named Outstanding Rebel of the Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's soccer forward Dakota Blazak has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

 The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department. This is the first Rebel of the Week honor of the 2016-17 school year.

Blazak tallied three goals in wins over Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington, including two in the first 10 minutes of Sunday's 3-1 win over the Eagles. Her three goals in two games matched the total she scored in all of 2015. The senior's performance over the weekend earned her several awards as she was named the UNLV Invitational Most Outstanding Offensive Player and the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, in addition to being honored as a member of Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week.

UNLV women's soccer is off to its best start in program history, going unbeaten through the first four games and setting a record for most goals scored during that span (15).
