Game Notes vs. Boise State | 2016-17 Media Guide

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
The UNLV men's basketball team (8-7, 1-1 MW) will remain at home for its second straight Mountain West contest to host Boise State (9-4, 2-0 MW) on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 8 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Runnin' Rebels are looking for their second straight win as they are coming off an 81-75 victory over Wyoming in their MW home opener on Saturday afternoon. The win was UNLV's first in conference play this season and also snapped a two-game losing streak.

UNLV, which is 7-3 at home this year, is led in scoring by sophomore guard Jalen Poyser (14.1 ppg), senior forward Tyrell Green (13.3 ppg), senior forward Christian Jones (10.6 ppg), sophomore guard Kris Clyburn (9.5 ppg) and junior guard Jovan Mooring (9.4 ppg). Jones (7.0 rpg), Green (6.2 rpg) and Clyburn (6.1) are the team's leading rebounders, while Poyser (3.5 apg) and Mooring (3.3) lead in assists. Junior forward Dwayne Morgan was leading the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg), but has missed the last six games because of injury.

Boise State has won both its MW games so far this year (83-80 at Utah State, 74-73 vs. Colorado State) and comes to Las Vegas having won five straight and six of its last seven. The Broncos are 2-3 in true road games this season. Junior guard Chandler Hutchison (18.0 ppg) leads the team in scoring and is one of three averaging in double figures. Sophomore guard Paris Austin (10.8 ppg) and senior forward Nick Duncan (10.7 ppg) are the others. Hutchison also leads the team in rebounding (8.5 rpg), while Austin is the team's assist leader (2.7 apg).

Wednesday's game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Brent Stover and Jordan Cornette calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM and online (link at UNLVRebels.com).
