SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished 27th overall at the 2017 NCAA West Regional Championships, which were held at Jefferson Park Golf Course and hosted by the University of Washington. The Rebels were led by Spencer Moore who finished 84th with a time of 21:19.6.

The team's average time was 22:25 â€" 27 seconds faster than 2016's, and it was helped by personal-bests clocked by Elisa Rovere (148th/22:18.6), Emma Wahlenmaier (148th/22:32.1), Lindy Eskin (188th/22:54.6) and Syler Free (191st/22:58.2) as well as Moore's time.

"I am super proud of our Rebels," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "We ran strong and confident as a team for the entire race. We had four personal best and Spencer ran one of her strongest races of her career at UNLV. Our two seniors closed out their final cross country race in great form and our three freshmen ran with conviction today."

By virtue of their 1-2 finish, San Francisco and Stanford automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 18. San Francisco entered the race ranked No. 4 in the nation, while Stanford was three spots back. Oregon, Boise State and California finished third through fifth, respectively.

Not only did San Francisco finish first as a team with three runners in the top seven, but individually its own Charlotte Taylor claimed first with a time of 19:14.2. Boise State's Allie Ostrander was second (19:16.5), while Washington's Amy-Eloise Neale was third (19:25.3).
