Feb. 22, 2017 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - A total of 11 UNLV football players â€" two more than the previous season -- earned spots on the Academic All-Mountain West team, the league announced.
Leading the way was four-time honoree Andrew Price, a senior tight end who held a cumulative 3.43 grade point average in kinesiology. Junior offensive lineman Kyle Saxelid earned a spot on the team for the third consecutive season while kicker Nicolai Bornand, offensive lineman Will Kreitler and quarterback Kurt Palandech all made it back-to-back appearances.
To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.
