Clemens Finishes Third In Heptathlon

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Stella Clemens finished third in the pentathlon on the the second day of UNLV's own Spring Invitational and Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis at Myron Partridge Stadium.

Clemens registered a personal-best measurement of 126-0 (38.40m) in the javelin throw that earned her 637 points. The distance was less than an inch better (125-10/38.35m) than the toss she uncorked at the 2016 Steve Scott Invitational. In two other events, she was third in the long jump 18-0.25 (5.49m) and sixth in the 800m (2:30.66, PB).

Saturday's action starts bright and early at 7:30 am with the men's and women's 10k. At 9:00 am, the women's shot put opens up the schedule for the field events, while the women's 5000m (section 2) continues the track portion. The meet will conclude with the women's 4x400m relay (3:15 pm) and men's 4x400m relay (3:30 pm).

Besides the host Rebels, BYU, Dixie State, Fresno State, Idaho State, Illinois, Northern Colorado, San Jose State, Southern Utah, UC Davis, Utah Valley, Cerritos College and other track clubs are participating in the meet.
