FORT COLLINS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team (14-5, 3-3 MW) scored the game's final 14 points and came back to defeat Colorado State, 79-74, Saturday afternoon at Moby Arena. It was the Runnin' Rebels' fourth straight road victory.
Senior guard Jovan Mooring made a 3-pointer with 28 seconds left to break a 74-74 tie giving the UNLV the lead for good.
Junior forward Shakur Juiston scored a game-high-tying 19 points with eight rebounds, Mooring added 17 points and senior guard Jordan Johnson contributed 14 points. Freshman forward Brandon McCoy had a team-high 10 rebounds to go with his nine points.
CSU (10-11, 3-5 MW) had four players score in double figures, led by J.D. Paige's 19 points. Nico Carvacho pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds for the Rams.
THE TURNING POINT: Down nine (74-65) with 3:42 to go, UNLV scored the final 14 points of the game. Mooring had seven during that stretch, while Johnson had five.
RUNNIN' REBEL OF THE GAME: Juiston was 9 of 12 from the field for the game after going 7 of 7 in the first half. He made his first nine attempts overall before missing. He also had eight rebounds.
STATS OF THE GAME: UNLV was 17 of 20 from the free-throw line (85.0 percent) and committed just nine turnovers.
QUOTABLE: "I was really pleased with the effort, especially defensively down the stretch. It was just a great team win. There was a great spirit on the bench and it was a great feeling in the locker room. But you can't get too high or too low, we just have to take this victory and get to work to get ready for Fresno State on Tuesday." - UNLV head coach Marvin Menzies.

- It was UNLV's first win at Colorado State since 2011 and snapped a six-game Runnin' Rebel losing streak at Moby Arena.
- UNLV is now 3-0 in Mountain West road games and 0-3 in league contests at home.
- UNLV has now made at least one 3-pointer in 1,025 straight games.
- UNLV has used the same starting lineup in all 19 games this season.
- The game had 12 lead changes and seven ties.
NEXT FOR THE RUNNIN' REBELS: UNLV will play its second consecutive game on the road for the first time this season as it travels to Fresno State to face the Bulldogs on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
