VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (UNLVRebels.com) - The No. 9 UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 1-over-par 281 on Tuesday and finished eighth at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, which was hosted by Alabama at Old Overton Country Club (par 70, 7,209 yards).
The Rebels played with just four student-athletes as sophomore Jack Trent became sick prior to the start of the tournament.
No. 5 Alabama shot a final-round 6-under 277 and won the team title by one shot at 12-under 828. The Crimson Tide has now won the event 10 times in the last 13 years. Arkansas finished a shot back in second place at 11-under, No. 23 Auburn was third at 5-under, No. 14 BYU was fourth at 1-under and Charlotte rounded out the top five at 2-over. The Rebels finished the 54-hole tournament at 23-over.
Individually, Arkansas' Julian Perico earned medalist honors by four shots at 13-under 197. Alabama's Davis Riley finished second at 9-under. UNLV was led by senior Harry Hall, who shot a final-round-low tying 5-under 65. Hall ended up tied for 11th at even-par 210.
STAT OF THE DAY: Hall moved up 14 spots in the standings on the final day with his score of 65 on Tuesday.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Hall's final round consisted of six birdies and a bogey.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV's final action of the fall season will be Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 22-23, at the Little Rock Invitational in Arkansas.
REBEL NOTES:
• UNLV finished fifth and second, respectively, in its other two tournaments of the season.
• Hall tied for medalist honors at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the end of September, recording his first career individual win.
• The Rebels are the
three-time defending Mountain West champions.
• Last year's team also finished third at the NCAA Regional in Columbus, Ohio, and placed in the top 20 at the NCAA Championship.
• Trent earned the Mountain West Freshman of the Year award last season, while Hall, Higgo and Trent were all recognized as All-MW performers.
• Hall was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar in July.
• UNLV has played in a NCAA-record 30 straight regionals.
• This year marks head coach Dwaine Knight's 32nd season leading the Rebel program.
