UNLV placed four members of the women's basketball team on the 2018 Spring Academic All-Mountain West team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Paris Strawther was named Academic All-MW for the third straight season to highlight the selections from the Lady Rebels.
Making a repeat appearance on the academic team was junior
Alyssa Anderson and senior
Kennedy Wharton, while freshman
Krista Jackman earned her first career academic honor.
A program-high three Lady Rebels also received the honor of MW Scholar-Athlete,, as in addition to Anderson and Wharton, sophomore
Mara Kemmer also received the honor.
To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MW Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
