LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team hits the road for the first time this season with a trip to the Steel City for the Duquesne Invitational this weekend. The Rebels, who are making their first trip in program history to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will travel across the country for the two-day, six-match tournament that also includes the Bowling Green Falcons, Youngstown State Penguins and the host Duquesne Dukes.
Each team will play twice Friday and once on Saturday. The Scarlet & Gray will play the second and fourth match on day one with a tilt against YSU and DU at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT) and 7:00 pm ET (4:00 pm PT), respectively. UNLV and BGSU close out their participation in the tournament at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT) Saturday.

ON THE SIDELINES: The UNLV Rebels return to Las Vegas and the Cox Pavilion for its second and final home tournament - the Rebel Challenge - on Sept. 7-8. UNLV will welcome Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Kentucky and Fordham to town for the two-day affair. The Rebels will play at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm Friday against Fordham and CSUF, respectively. The Scarlet & Gray will close out the tourney with a contest against EKU Saturday at 2:00 pm.

Friday's Opponent: Youngstown State Penguins (Overall Record: 3-1)
-Enters the tournament after it suffered a 3-1 loss on the road at Kent State Tuesday night.
-Began the season with three wins at the Bucknell Invitational; defeated Saint Peter's 3-0, and NJIT and Bucknell by identical 3-1 scores.
-Margaux Thompson, Aleah Hughes and Alexia Byrnes earned all-tournament honors last weekend
-UNLV leads the all-time series: 1-0; a 3-0 Rebel win in Las Vegas on Sept. 11, 1998.
Friday's Opponent: Duquesne Dukes (Overall Record: 1-1)
-Enters the tournament with after playing a pair of in-state opponents on the road; a 3-1 loss at Lehigh and a 3-0 win at Lafayette.
-This is the first meeting between UNLV and Duquesne.
Saturday's Opponent: Bowling Green Falcons (Overall Record: 0-4)
-Enters the tournament after it suffered a 3-1 home loss to Oakland Tuesday night.
-Began the season with three straight losses at Purdue's Mortar Board Premier; 3-0 defeats to Tulsa, Purdue and Wofford.
-This is the first meeting between UNLV and Bowling Green.
