Runnin' Rebels At San Diego State Saturday

UNLV men's basketball looking for first win in San Diego in six years, 5 p.m. game to be televised by CBS Sports Network.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team, winner of two straight and five of its last six games, will travel to San Diego to face San Diego State on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at Viejas Arena.

The Runnin' Rebels (11-7, 5-1) enter the contest one-half game out of first place in the Mountain West after their best start to conference play in seven years. UNLV is looking for its first win at Viejas Arena in six seasons.

The Runnin' Rebels are  led this season in scoring by senior guard Kris Clyburn, who is averaging 13.4 ppg. Freshman forward Joel Ntambwe is close behind at 12.5 ppg, while sophomore guard Amauri Hardy is third at 12.1 ppg. Senior forward Shakur Juiston, who was averaging 10.8 ppg and 8.8 rpg over eight games played, suffered a season-ending knee injury in December. The team's current rebounding leader, sophomore forward Mbacke Diong (6.3 rpg), has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. He also leads the team in blocks (third in the MW) with 1.7 bpg. Senior guard Noah Robotham is the Runnin' Rebel assist leader (4.6 apg), ranking fourth in the MW.

San Diego State (10-8, 2-3) is coming off a 66-62 loss at Fresno State on Tuesday. The Aztecs have alternated wins and losses in each of their last eight games overall, but are 8-2 at home this season. Jalen McDaniels leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 16.1 ppg and 8.1 rpg.

Saturday's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn and Pete Gillen calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin' Rebel Robert Smith, and Steve Cofield (sideline reporter) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
