LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team will continue its four-game, eight-day homestand on Saturday, Nov. 23, by hosting SMU at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. It will mark UNLV's third game in the Southwestern Showdown presented by Engage Telehealth, a multiple-team event played in round-robin format. It is also the front end of a home-and-home series with the Mustangs as the Runnin' Rebels will play at SMU next season.
UNLV (2-4) opened the 2019-20 season with an 86-71 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Nov. 5 then dropped three straight games vs. Power 5 conference teams (vs. Kansas State in OT, at Cal in OT and at UCLA) before getting back in the win column against Abilene Christian on Monday. The Runnin' Rebels are coming off a 64-57 loss to Texas State Wednesday night.

Junior guard Amauri Hardy leads three Runnin' Rebels averaging in double-figure scoring with 18.8 points per game (3rd in MW), while junior forward Mbacke Diong is the team's leading rebounder with 10.7 per contest (2nd in MW). In the Runnin' Rebels' last game, Hardy made four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 18 points. UNLV is under new leadership this year in head coach T.J. Otzelberger.

SMU (4-0) has home wins over Jacksonville State, New Orleans, Jackson State and a road victory at Evansville this season. Tyson Jolly leads three Mustangs in double-figure scoring with 18.3 points per game. Feron Hunt leads the team in rebounding at 9.5 per contest.

Saturday's game will be video streamed on Facebook, produced by Stadium, with Ari Wolfe, Doug Gottlieb and Dani Klupenger (sideline) calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin' Rebel Curtis Terry and Steve Cofield (sideline) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 in Las Vegas and online via the UNLVGameday App and TuneIn.
