Rebels Travel To Play Broncos, Aggies This Week

UNLV Volleyball closes out Mountain West season series with Boise State Thursday, Utah State Saturday.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team begins a stretch of playing four of its final four regular-season matches on the road with stops in Boise, Idaho and Logan, Utah this week. The Rebels, who just completed a four-match homestand, will close out their Mountain West season series against the Boise State Broncos Thursday and Utah State Aggies Saturday.

UNLV (13-10 overall, 9-3 MW) enters the week coming off a 1-1 showing last week in a pair of four-set matches against the Fresno State Bulldogs and San Diego State Aztecs. The Rebels rallied for a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs, which closed out a perfect month of October for the Scarlet & Gray. Unfortunately, the Aztecs snapped UNLV's nine-match win streak, which - coincidentally - began at SDSU on Oct. 3, with their 3-1 triumph Saturday.

Boise State (15-8, 7-5) and Utah State (2-22, 2-10) are returning home to host for the first time in three weeks after playing consecutive weekends on the road at San Diego State, San Jose State and UNR. The Broncos went 3-1 on the road; however, the loss was in their most recent contest - a 3-1 defeat to the UNR Wolf Pack in Reno last Saturday. The Aggies, on the other hand, were winless in all four, losing all three by identical 3-0 scores.

UNLV volleyball has already staked itself to a minimum of 1.5 points after it defeated UNR in Reno on Oct. 19.

Additionally, the contest is part of UNLV Athletics Code Red series, which encourages all fans and students to wear red while cheering on the Rebels.

SENIOR DAY: The UNLV-SJSU affair is being billed as "Senior Day," with the Rebels celebrating their outgoing senior Antonette Rolda. Senior festivities are slated to begin following the conclusion of the match.

TIME CHANGE: First serve for UNLV volleyball's regular-season home finale against the San Jose State Spartans has been pushed up two hours to 5:00 pm on Nov. 16 at the Cox Pavilion. The contest was originally scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
