Lady Rebels Hold Play4Kay Pink Game Saturday vs Spartans

UNLV is looking for its second sweep of the season.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -  The UNLV Lady Rebels start a two-game homestand Saturday as they are holding their Play4Kay Pink Game against the San Jose State Spartans. The contest will tip off at 3 pm in the Cox Pavilion, and the Lady Rebels will be wearing pink jerseys while breast cancers will be honored during the contest. The game is to help raise awareness and support for the fight against breast cancer, with the national campaign led by the Kay Yow Fund. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game as well to show their support for breast cancer awareness.

Tickets for the contest at $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and staff, while kids 17 and under are free at UNLV Lady Rebel contests. Fans can also receive $3 off their admission if they purchase their ticket at UNLVTickets.com at least three hours before the game. There will be a live video stream of the contest on the MW Network with Wyatt Tomchek as play-by-play and Curtis Stelzer as color analyst, while the radio broadcast will feature the call of Adam Candee. UNLV Game Notes 
♦ This is the first of a two-game homestand for the Lady Rebels. UNLV will play four of its final six games at home.
♦ The Lady Rebels have been strong on their home courts the past three conference seasons, going 26-6 in league play (22-5 in the Cox Pavilion, 4-0 in the Thomas & Mack Center). That includes last season's 8-1 home record, with the lone loss by two-point on a last second trey. This year they are 4-1 in Las Vegas in league play, with the setback coming at the hands of league-leading Boise State (64-57).
♦ UNLV is looking to sweep San Jose State for the second straight season, and the third overall sweep since the Spartans joined the MW in 2013-14.
♦ UNLV is 7-4 when holding teams under 60 points this season, and 1-11 when giving up over 60 points a game.
♦ Senior center Katie Powell reached 1,000 career points Wednesday against Air Force, and is closing in on the 1k mark as a Lady Rebel as well.
