LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's tennis head coach
Owen Hambrook has been named the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Intermountain College Coach of the Year.
This year's set of recipients were honored at a banquet held in Colorado over the weekend.
"It is an honor to win this award from the United State Professional Tennis Association, especially since I was nominated and voted on by my fellow members in the coaching profession," Hambrook said. "This honor is a shared award for all of my players, my coaching staff and the UNLV athletic administration."
Currently in his 16th season at the helm, Hambrook is the longest-serving coach in the program's history and ranks second in all-time wins with a 209-159 record. Last season saw a Rebel earn Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Year for the second consecutive year as
Alexandr Cozbinov earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Singles Tournament.
The 2019 Rebels are off to a 6-1 start and next host NAU Friday staring at 1 p.m.
