San Diego State Visits Saturday Night

Pregame party, giveaways and halftime entertainment planned for 7 p.m. game.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team, winner of three straight games and four of its last five, will host San Diego State on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.

There will be a free open-to-the-public Runnin' Rebel Fest in front of the arena that starts at 5 p.m., featuring music, food, drinks, giveaways and more. The first 250 general fans and 500 season ticket holders at the pregame party can pick up a voucher for a light up Hey Reb! bobblehead, while free t-shirts will also be given away. In addition, the nationally-renowned Tron Bike act will perform at halftime.

Tickets to the game start at just $22 and the Rebel 4-Pack is also available, which includes four tickets, four UNLV hats and four chicken finger combos for just $79. That deal expires at 11:59 p.m. on Friday. Tickets may be purchased at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS or by visiting the TMC Box Office.

Saturday's game is for fourth place in the Mountain West as the Aztecs (17-9, 9-4) are currently in that spot at 9-4, while the Runnin' Rebels (15-11, 9-5) are a half-game back in fifth at 9-5. Only two games in the standings currently separate the second through fifth spots in the league. With nine wins thus far, UNLV already has its best MW record in five seasons.

The Runnin' Rebels are coming off a 66-56 win at Wyoming on Tuesday night, while SDSU defeated No. 6 UNR in San Diego, 65-57, Wednesday night. The Aztecs have won four straight and seven of eight.

Saturday's game will be televised by ESPNU with Steve Quis and Corey Williams calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin' Rebel Robert Smith, and Steve Cofield (sideline reporter) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
