UNLV Game NotesÂ
♦ UNLV has sole possession of fifth place entering the final weeks of the MW schedule.
♦ The Lady Rebels have a two-game lead over Utah State (6-8 in MW) thanks to owning the tiebreaker over the Aggies. However, both San Diego State and UNR, UNLV's next two opponents, are still within reach with a 5-8 league record. If UNLV were to lose to either or both teams, that opens the door for one of the three teams to grab that fifth seed away from the Lady Rebels. The top-five teams in the final conference standings all receive a bye on the first day of the MW Tournament, while the bottom six will play in the opening round on March 10.
♦ Saturday will be the third Play4Kay pink game of the year UNLV has played in, after a 62-47 win at Air Force (Feb. 13) and a 74-70 home win over San Jose State (Feb. 16).
♦ UNLV is looking for a sweep of the Aztecs for the second straight year, and the third time in the past four years. The Lady Rebels have won four straight over SDSU, its longest win streak in the series since a similar four-game streak from 2005-07. UNLV has also won six of the past seven meetings against SDSU, with the one loss coming in January of 2017 in San Diego, 87-68.
♦ UNLV is 8-4 when holding teams under 60 points this season, and 1-12 when giving up over 60 points a game.
♦ A strength for UNLV in MW play has been its bench play. The Lady Rebels are averaging 22.8 ppg off its bench, compared to 17.1 ppg by its opponents.Â
