STANFORD, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot 12-over-par 292 on Thursday during the first round of the The Goodwin, which is being played at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6.758 yards).

The Rebels are 13th out of 27 teams after the first day. Washington holds the team lead by a shot at 2-under 278, followed by host Stanford at 1-under. No. 6 USC and No. 11 California are tied for third at 6-over, while there is a three-way tie for fifth at 7-over between Santa Clara, Oregon and Colorado.

Individually, there is a three-way tie for first at 3-under 67 between Colorado's Daniel O'Loughlin, Santa Clara's Derek Ackerman and Stanford's David Snyder. There is also a four-way tie for fourth one shot back at 2-under.

REBEL OF THE DAY: Freshman David Rauch turned in UNLV's best individual round of the day at 1-over 71.

• Trent earned the Mountain West Freshman of the Year award last season, while Harry Hall and Trent were both recognized as All-MW performers. 
• Hall was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar in July. 
• UNLV has played in a NCAA-record 30 straight regionals. 
• This year marks head coach Dwaine Knight's 32nd season leading the Rebel program.
