LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Rebels close out their five-game homestand with a contest against the Grand Canyon Lopes Tuesday afternoon (3:05 pm) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. Thus far, UNLV is 3-1 in this stretch of home affairs with a come-from-behind, upset victory over then-No. 9 Arizona State and a Mountain West series win (2-1) over San Jose State.
Tuesday's tussle concludes a nonconference home-and-home series between UNLV and GCU, with the first meeting – an 11-5 Lopes win – taking place in Phoenix two weeks ago on April 2. Since that encounter, the teams have gone in different directions in their last seven games, as the Rebels have won five times to the Lopes claiming only one win.
Historically speaking, UNLV and GCU have squared off a total of 40 times dating back to 1967. The Rebels leads the all-time series 21-18-1; however, the Lopes have won four in a row, beginning with a 5-4 triumph on March 15, 2017.
