SACRAMENTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete and
Jasmyne Graham highlighted the track & field team's performances on day two at the NCAA West Preliminary in the Golden State's capital city. Wilson-Perteete qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second straight year after finishing fourth overall in the second round of the 800m, while Graham advanced to Saturday's second round of the 100m hurdles after running the ninth-fastest time Friday at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium.
Wilson-Perteete punched her ticket for Austin, Texas, and the chance to compete for a national championship in the 800m in two weeks (June 5-8) after winning her heat (No. 2) in a time of 2:03.64. Graham; meanwhile, is looking to do the same in the 100m hurdles after clocking a time of 13.11 in the event's opening round.
The Rebels were also represented by
Taylor Pegram and
Jada Hicks in the first round of the 100m hurdles, finishing 24th (13.41) and 28th (13.46), respectively. Unfortunately, Pegram fell short of advancing to the second round by one spot.
Kaysha Love closed out her season in the 100m with a 17th-place finish in a time of 11.52.
