SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (1-0/0-0) continues its non-conference schedule by hosting Sun Belt member Arkansas State (0-1/0-0) on Saturday night ... The game will be produced by STADIUM and be live on Facebook via the @unlvathetics account ... The Rebels have a chance to start a season 2-0 for the first time since John Robinson's first UNLV team won at North Texas and at Baylor to kick off the 1999 campaign ... The evening's theme will be Salute to the '80s as part of the school's season-long celebration called Sam Boyd Stadium Farewell (#SBSFarewell) before the program moves in 2020 to the $1.9 billion Allegiant Stadium currently under construction closer to campus ... UNLV starts a season with back-to-back home games for the first time since 2012 ... The Rebels won just their second opener in the last decade with a 56-23 victory over Southern Utah while the Red Wolves fell at home to SMU, 37-30 ... Against the Thunderbirds, UNLV tied a school record with seven rushing touchdowns (1974 vs. Prairie View A&M) coming from four different players ... Meanwhile 11 different receivers caught at least one pass from two different quarterbacks (Armani Rogers and Kenyon Oblad) ... Rogers needs just 40 more yards to break Jason Thomas' school record for career rushing yards by a quarterback (1,528 set in 2000-02) ... After never having scored more than one touchdown in a game, running back Charles Williams found the end zone three times vs. SUU as part of his 15-carry, 143-yard night ... Calling the plays for the Rebs is second-year assistant Garin Justice, who took over as offensive coordinator after veteran OC Barney Cotton announced in July that he was leaving the program to await a heart transplant.

REBELS vs. RED WOLVES NOTES...
UNLV and Arkansas State have met only twice before -- the Rebels won 28-23 on Sept. 9, 1995, in Las Vegas and the Red Wolves took last year's meeting in a rainy Jonesboro 27-20 ... The first game was actually a conference meeting as ASU was a member of the expanded Big West from 1993-95 ... UNLV is 3-2 all-time vs. teams from Arkansas (1-1 vs. Arkansas, 1-1 vs. ASU and 1-0 vs. what is now known as Central Arkansas) ... While the Rebels are 2-5 vs. current members of the Sun Belt (1-1 vs. ASU, 0-4 vs. Louisiana and 1-0 vs. Monroe), this will mark only the second time UNLV plays a team that was a member of the league at the time of the game.
