MILWAUKEE (UNLVRebels.com) – New UNLV men's tennis player
Alex Kobelt won his first round match Friday at the prestigious Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Kobelt, a graduate transfer from Ohio State, is seeded 10th and downed Wisconsin's Chase Colton, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the second round at the Western Racquet Club.
Saturday's opponent will be Navy's Derrick Thompson, who rallied past North Carolina State's Tadas Babelis, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
The tournament runs through Monday.
