LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's tennis senior graduate transfer
Alex Kobelt was named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
The senior graduate transfer from Ohio State posted an outstanding debut as a Rebel, getting all the way to the semifinals of the prestigious Milwaukee Open over the weekend.
Kobelt won his first four singles matches -- all in straight sets -- to advance before falling on Sunday to the event's seventh seed.
