LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Top-seeded Michaela Gordon of Stanford rallied to win in three sets to take the singles crown on the final day of the elite Freeman Memorial Championships being held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.
 
Individual competitors from No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 6 Pepperdine and No. 11 Oklahoma State joined the Rebels this weekend for the event.
 
Gordon, ranked seventh in the nation, dropped the first set against third-seeded and 29^th-ranked Bunyai Thamchaiwat of Oklahoma State before coming back to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
 
In doubles play, third-seeded Makenna Jones and Alle Sanford of North Carolina downed Emma Higuchi and Sara Choy of Stanford, 6-2, for the championship.
 
The Freeman marked the final individual tournament for the UNLV women who will head to Malibu, California, next weekend to open dual match play vs. No. 6 Pepperdine.
