MALIBU, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's tennis was more competitive Sunday but still lost for the second and final day at the 2020 ITA Kickoff Weekend event at Ralphs-Strauss Stadium on the campus of Pepperdine.
 
The Rebels fell to 0-2 with a 4-0 loss to Arizona (1-2) but were in all three remaining matches that were halted when the Wildcats clinched.
 
Arizona won the bottom two doubles matches 6-0 to claim a 1-0 lead and then took a trio of straight-setters in singles. The loss snapped a three-year streak of UNLV winning at least one match in the annual event.
 
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will stay on the road with a pair of matches in Arizona next weekend, facing San Diego on Saturday in Tempe and then face host ASU on Sunday.
