LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Junior Izumi Asano has been named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in her career, the league announced Wednesday.
 
The native of Kasugai, Japan, won both of her matches in her team's loss to Arkansas over the weekend. She and doubles partner En-Pei Huang, who are ranked No. 13 in the nation, made quick work of 22nd-ranked Tatum Rice and Lauren Alter, 6-1, at the top spot to improve to 11-3 on the season.
 
Asano also won the award on Feb. 6, 2019. She and the rest of the Rebels will be back in action Thursday at 10 a.m. when they host New Mexico State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
