LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV senior
En-Pei Huang and junior
Izumi Asano are playing in rarified air this week after making a jump in the latest ITA Women's Tennis Rankings.
The Rebel duo, which was unranked in the preseason, moved up 15 spots since the most-recent rankings in November and now stands No. 13 in the nation after compiling a record of 10-3.
This marks the highest ranking for a UNLV women's tennis doubles team since September 2007 when Elena Gantcheva and Kristina Nedeltcheva began the season at No. 5.
Huang and Asano will be back in action Friday when the Rebels open their home season by facing Arkansas starting at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge and live scoring is available at unlvrebels.com.
