LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team was forced to come back after losing doubles play but did just that, 5-2, over Santa Clara on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 6-0 while the Broncos fell to 2-5.
 
The visitors won a tightly contested doubles session by earning a 6-4 win up top and a 7-6 tiebreaker clincher at the third spot.
 
UNLV took over in singles, however, only dropping one match, and triumphing in both matches that went three sets.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Local product Clayton Alenik teamed with Eric Samuelsson for a 7-6 win in doubles and then finished off Nick Cmager, 6-1, 7-6, on court six in singles to clinch the team victory.
 
QUOTABLE: "After losing a close doubles point, the guys went to work in singles and played well to get the win against a solid opponent."

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will look to remain undefeated when it hosts BYU on Thursday starting at 1 p.m. Admission to all matches are free of charge.
