ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team closed out its first trip to the Duke City with six top-eight finishes Saturday at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. The Rebels had a pair of top-six showings in both the 60m hurdles and triple jump, while adding one each in the 400m and mile.

Jazlynn Shearer took fourth in the triple jump (41-1/12.52m) and sixth in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.34. Shearer wasn't the only Rebel to place in those two events, as
Jonon Young was fifth in the triple jump (41-0.50/12.51m) and
Jada Hicks was fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.32).
UNLV also got a fifth-place finish from
Alexis Surrell in the 400m (55.69) and an eighth-place showing from
Elisa Rovere in the mile (5:08.52).
Additionally,
DeAndra Greer ran a time of 7.57 to place 15th overall in the 60m.
NEXT UP: UNLV returns to Albuquerque next weekend for a second straight meet hosted by New Mexico. The Don Kirby Elite Invitational will run Thursday through Friday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
