LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - After tying for second place in the Mountain West and winning 12 league games, both for the first time in 12 seasons, the UNLV men's basketball team has earned a bye in the 2020 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Men's Basketball Championship and will be the No. 4 seed.
The Runnin' Rebels (17-14) will face No. 5 seed Boise State (19-11) on Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in the tournament's quarterfinals at the Thomas & Mack Center. Tickets may be purchased at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office.
UNLV won five straight games to close the regular season for the first time in nine years and enters the tournament having won six of its last seven contests overall and nine of 11 at home.

Bryce Hamilton (15.8 ppg) and junior guard
Amauri Hardy (14.6 ppg), who were named first- and third-team All-Mountain West recipients earlier this week, respectively, the Runnin' Rebels are looking to advance to the MW Tournament's semifinals for the first time since 2014. Hamilton became the first UNLV player to average over 20 ppg in conference play in 10 years (20.9 ppg, 2nd in MW). Junior forward Mbacke Diong is the team's leading rebounder with 8.0 per contest (5th in MW). UNLV is under new leadership this year in head coach

Boise State (19-11) is in its 10th year under head coach Leon Rice. The Broncos had won three of their last four games and eight of their last 10 before losing at UNLV in their regular-season finale on Feb. 26. Derrick Alston leads Boise State in scoring with 17.6 ppg (3rd in MW), while RJ Williams is the leading rebounder with 8.6 rpg (4th in MW).
The two teams split their regular-season meetings this year with Boise State winning 73-66 in Boise on Jan. 8 and UNLV winning 76-66 in Las Vegas on Feb. 26.
