LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV senior Eric Samuelsson has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Wednesday.
 
The Rebels, who are 10-1 this spring only played one match last week and it was a 4-3 heartbreaking loss at Arizona State. However, Samuelsson won both of his matches against the Sun Devils of the Pac-12, including against a ranked opponent.
 
The native of Ahus, Sweden, teamed with Clayton Alenik at the second doubles position for a 6-4 victory that helped the Rebels win the doubles point. In singles, he tied the overall match at 3-3 by knocking off 121st-ranked Makey Rakotomalala at the second position, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.
 
Samuelsson also won the award back on Feb. 12.
 
UNLV looks to get back to its winning ways when it hosts a trio of matches this weekend, starting with UTSA on Friday afternoon. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
