LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team returned home and got right back in the win column Friday with a 6-1 victory over Loyola Marymount on a gorgeous afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
UNLV improved to 11-1 on the season while the Lions fell to 3-6.
The Rebels opened with a 1-0 lead after taking the first two completed doubles matches.
Moving to singles, the hosts took points on courts two through six to clinch it.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Local product Clayton Alenik teamed up with Eric Samuelsson for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and then was the first singles player off the court after a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Ethan Torlic on court six.
QUOTABLE: "We started out pretty well but then LMU battled back. Proud of the team as a whole for fighting hard and making adjustments when needed to close it out."

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV is back on the court Sunday with a pair of dual matches. The Rebels host UTSA starting with doubles play at 11 a.m. before facing Southern Utah at 5 p.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
