LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's basketball senior Bailey Thomas was named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
A Las Vegas native, Thomas averaged a team-high 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals in leading the Lady Rebels to a 1-1 split with Colorado State. In UNLV's win over the Rams, the local product scored the most points by a Lady Rebel in nearly four years with a career-high 29 points. Thomas also added six assists, five rebounds and three assists in that game while knocking down five three-pointers.
In addition to her career-best scoring effort, Thomas grabbed a career-high eight rebounds to go along with her 12 points in the Scarlet and Gray's second contest against CSU.
