LOGAN, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV cross country freshman Natalia Ruiz won her third straight race as she took first place in the 5k at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational Friday, which was hosted by Utah State at the Steve & Dona Reeder Cross Country Course.
On a cold, rainy day, Utah State placed first as a team with 26 points, ahead of the College of Idaho (49), UNLV (76) and Utah (86).
Ruiz' time was 18:25.2, while Utah State's LeAnn Larkin-Hatch finished second at 18:44.0 and fellow Aggie Megan Terry was third at 18:51.4.
UNLV sophomore LaKya Yazzie placed 12th, freshman Lauren Felknor finished 19th, sophomore Isabella Schrader was 21st, freshman Aitza Romero was 23rd, junior Rebecca Green was 24th and junior Mackenzie Moss was 26th.
Ruiz also took first place at the UC Riverside Invitational and at the San Diego City College Downey Invitational in September.
