LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — UNLV hosts its Thanksgiving Classic round-robin tournament starting Saturday with a noon matchup versus UT Arlington (3-1) at the Cox Pavilion. Kansas City (3-1) and Grambling State (2-2) will follow at approximately 2:30 p.m.

About the matchup

UT Arlington has twice been UNLV's Thanksgiving Classic opener. The Lady Rebels defeated the Lady Mavs, 60-59, in the 1994-95 season and, 79-57, in 2004-05.

Scouting UT Arlington

• UT Arlington comes to Vegas on the heels of two consecutive overtime wins—75-74 at North Texas (Nov. 20) and 69-66 vs. Houston (Nov. 17). Overall, the Mavs have won nine straight overtime games.
• The Sun Belt coaches picked UT Arlington to finish third in the conference standings in their preseason poll.
• Terryn Milton was a Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team selection. Milton is one of five key returners for the Lady Mavs and averaged 9.6 points and 3.7 assists last season.
• UT Arlington head coach Shereka Wright (Purdue '04) is 16-8 overall in her second season.

Scouting Grambling State

• UNLV and Grambling State have met just once previously, Dec. 7, 1990, in Houston, Texas—an 80-67 win for the Lady Rebels.
• Grambling is 2-2 with wins against Louisiana-Monroe and Northwestern State and losses to Florida and Florida State.
• The Lady Tigers were picked to finish fifth in the SWAC Preseason Poll.
• Graduate senior and Central Arkansas transfer Alexus Holt leads Grambling State with 17.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Holt also has a team-high 13 assists and nine steals through four games.
•  Grambling State head coach Freddie Murray is 74-81 (.478)  in his sixth season as head coach.

Lady Rebels' last time out

• UNLV thumped Southern Utah 92-56 Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Cox Pavilion.
• Nneka Obiazor scored a season-high for the second straight game, totaling 21 points.
• Obiazor hit 10 of 11 field goal attempts and now ranks 31st among Division I players in field goal percentage (.629).
• Essence Booker added 16 points. She has been one of UNLV's top two scorers in every game.
• Freshman Alyssa Durazo-Frescas recorded season highs with an 11-point outing behind 3-of-4 3-point shooting.
• The Lady Rebels shot 58 percent (37-of-64) from the field, their best ever under La Rocque.
• Point guards Booker and Kiara Jackson combined for 13 assists and zero turnovers.

• Following Sunday's finale, UNLV plays three consecutive games on the road before returning home ot the Cox Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 18., versus Pacific.
