LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, 4-3, over Youngstown State on a perfect February Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 1-1 while the Penguins fell to 1-2 on the young campaign.

UNLV took two doubles matches to earn a 1-0 team lead and then the three required singles points. Izumi Asano clinched the victory for her team with a 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 win over Tamara Teufl at the top of the lineup.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: En-Pei Huang teamed with Izumi Asano to win 6-4 at the top doubles spot and then swept Lucia Zagar, 6-3, 6-1, on court three in singles.

UP NEXT: UNLV closes out its opening weekend with a Sunday match vs. UTSA starting with doubles play at 9 a.m. PT. At this time, no fans are allowed at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
