LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 7-0 victory over Dixie State on a beautiful Wednesday early evening at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels improved to 4-4 while the Trailblazers from St. George, Utah, fell to 2-10.
 
UNLV opened the match by taking two of three doubles contests for one team point and then did not lose a set during singles play in preserving the shutout.
 
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Freshman Zita Kovacs continues to impress. She teamed with fellow-rookie Aura Fang for a 6-1 doubles win on court three and then was the first one off the courts in singles after a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sabrina Longson at the third position.
 
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will open Mountain West play by traveling to face UNR for a neutral-site match in San Diego on Saturday starting at noon. The winner will earn three points in the Silver State Series presented by IBEW and Nevada Donor Network.
