LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team will send a small contingent of sprinters and jumpers to the Lone Star State to compete at the 93rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays this week. The meet, which is hosted by the University of Texas, will take place at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
The Scarlet & Gray will be represented by
Cassondra Hall and
Tianna Randle in the 100m and 4x100m relay, while
Azaria Hill and
Kaysha Love round out the relay quartet. Amari Prude is slated to run the 400m, while
Jazlynn Shearer will compete in the 100m hurdles and triple jump.
Jonon Young will also compete in the triple jump as well as the long jump.
Preliminary rounds of the 400m will take place Thursday at 4:00 pm CT (2:00 pm PT), while the 4x100m relay and 100m hurdles are scheduled for Friday. The long jump and triple jump will take place Friday and Saturday, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT: The Rebels won five events and recorded 19 top-eight finishes at their own UNLV Spring Invitational last weekend. Hall won both the 100m (11.27) and 200m (23.08), and ran a leg of the first-place 4x100m relay (44.79). Young won the long jump and triple jump, posting marks of 20-8 (6.30m) and 42-9.75 (13.05m).
IN THE RANKINGS: Hall sits first in the country in the 100m (11.27) and 200m (23.08), and has helped the 4x100m relay to a third-place showing nationally (44.79). Young sits sixth in the long jump (20-8/6.30m), while
Tianna Randle is ninth in the 100m (11.54). Additionally, the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay are third (44.79) and 10th (3:40.89), respectively.
