LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team defeated UC Riverside for the second time Tuesday, this time 5-2, to complete a doubleheader sweep at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels closed out their non-conference schedule by improving to 6-9 while the Highlanders fell to 0-6.
UNLV took all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead and then got four straight-set wins in singles to clinch the overall victory.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Zach Garner teamed with Tom Ciszewski for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles and then rolled past Joshua Roth, 6-1, 6-0, at the fourth singles position.
QUOTABLE: "It was good to be back on our home courts again and everyone got a chance to play. We are looking forward to the start of conference play Friday."
