LAS VEGAS, NV (UNLVRebels.com) - After a week off, the UNLV women's golf team returns to action twice this week, competing in back-to-back tournaments in the state of Arizona. 

First up is the Wildcat Invite, hosted by the University of Arizona, in Tucson, Monday and Tuesday, March 8 & 9. The two-day 54 hole tournament will be played at the par 72, 6,627 yard course at Sewailo Golf Club, with two rounds on Monday and one round on Tuesday. Both days will start with shotgun starts at 7:00 a.m MT. 

This will be the 13th time UNLV will participate in the event.

The Rebels will be looking to build off a strong outing in their last event when they finished tied for second as a team at LBSU's Gold Rush in February. UNLV had three Rebels finish in the top-12, with sophomore Elina Saksa taking fifth and senior Samantha Fuller and freshman Madeleine Laux tying for 12th. 

Saksa has been impressive so far this spring with a pair of top-10 finishes, which includes a single-round career low of 67 at the Gold Rush. The performance earned her the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week honor for the first time in her career. Freshman Madeleine Laux has also had an outstanding start to her collegiate career with two top-15 finishes in two tournaments.

After the Wildcat Invite, UNLV will stay in Arizona and head to Mesa for Arizona State's Clover Up tournament, which will take place over the weekend, March 12-14. 

THE FIELD: The 2021 Wildcat Invite will feature 16 teams including host Arizona. Those teams include: Arizona, Colorado, Denver, Iowa, Iowa State, Long Beach State, Northern Arizona, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Texas, New Mexico, UNLV and USC.

THE LINEUP:  The UNLV lineup at the invite will be sophomore Elina Saksa,freshman Madeleine Laux, senior Samantha Fuller, junior Veronica Joels and freshman Gracie Olkowski.
