Rebels In 11th Place As Second-Round Play Suspended Because Of Darkness At Thunderbird

UNLV men's golf shot 4-under on Friday at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot two rounds of 2-under-par 282 on Friday at the Thunderbird Collegiate, which is being hosted by Arizona State and played at the Papago Golf Course (par 71, 7,319 yards).

Fourteen of the 17 teams competing completed the second round before darkness fell. TCU leads the team standings at 30-under 538 after a second-round-low 20-under 264. No. 3 Oklahoma State is second at 26-under, followed by Utah in third at 24-under. Texas Tech is fourth at 23-under, while Oregon State rounds out the top five at 20-under. UNLV is 11th at 4-under.

Utah's Blake Tomlinson leads all individuals at 11-under 131 after rounds of 6-under 65 and 5-under 66. TCU's Jacob Skov Olesen is one shot back at 10-under in second place, while there is a two-way tie for third at 9-under.

The Rebels were led individually by fifth-year senior Justin Kim, who is tied for 37th at 2-under 140. He shot 1-under 70 during each of the first two rounds. Junior David Rauch and sophomore George Leigh are both tied for 40th at 1-under, senior Jack Trent is tied for 49th at even par and senior J.J. Gresco is tied for 63rd at 2-over. 

There are a total of 96 players competing.
