LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's
Alex Kobelt has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
He becomes the third different Rebel to earn the men's award this season as
Eric Samuelsson won February 10 and
Milos Dabic got the nod March 3.
Kobelt (New Albany, Ohio) led UNLV to victories over in-state rival UNR and then Fresno State last weekend by compiling a 4-0 mark in singles and doubles.
Kobelt teamed with Dabic for a pair of doubles wins on court three and, playing at the top of the singles lineup, the senior downed the Wolf Pack's Delmas N'Tcha, 7-6, 6-4, on Friday and the Bullldogs' Zdenek Derkas, 6-3, 6-2, on Sunday.
The Rebels, who are tied for first place in the Mountain West with a 5-1 mark, close out their regular-season schedule Saturday with a match at San Diego State.
