TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior 
Jack Trent shot a final-round 1-under-par 71 Saturday at the Mountain West Championship and finished in a four-way tie for first at 7-under 209, but came up short in a playoff. It marked the first four-golfer playoff in MW Championship history.
The 54-hole, two-day event was played at OMNI Tucson National's Catalina Course (par 72, 7,194 yards).
San Diego State's Puwit Anupansuebsai birdied the second playoff hole to win the individual title. He parred the first playoff hole along with New Mexico's Sam Choi and Boise State's Hugo Townsend, while Trent made bogey. Choi and Townsend both parred the second playoff hole.
As a team, the Rebels tied for third at 14-under 850 after shooting a final-round 11-under 277. New Mexico and UNR finished in a first-place tie at 19-under with the Lobos winning the team title by going 2-over on the first playoff hole, while the Wolf Pack were 3-over. SDSU tied with UNLV for third, while Boise State rounded out the top five at the 11-team event (1-13).

George Leigh tied for the lowest final round with a 7-under 65 to move up 11 spots in the standings to tie for fifth at 6-under. Senior 
J.J. Gresco tied for 19th at 1-under after a final-round 3-under 69, fifth-year 
Justin Kim tied for 29th at 3-over after a final-round even-par 72 and junior 
David Rauch finished 49th at 13-over.
