LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's soccer (3-3) will return home this weekend for its final non-conference contest of the season against UC Irvine (2-4-1) Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Johann Memorial Classic. The annual classic — last held prior to the COVID-19 pandemic — is
named in honor of Peter Johann and the late Ken Johann, the Rebel men's soccer program's biggest supporter for over three decades.
The match is just the second home appearance of the season for the Rebels, who split their two contests last weekend with a win coming at Sacramento State as part of a four-game road trip in the Golden State. In the squad's home opener, the Scarlet and Gray side pulled out a 2-1 win over UC San Diego after senior
Aedon Kyra scored the go-ahead goal in the 89th minute.

NEWS & NOTES:
- UNLV senior Aedon Kyra extended his consecutive games with a goal streak to three matches last week, as he netted the game-winner at Sacramento State and added another at Pacific. He leads the Scarlet and Gray in both goals (4) and points (9) heading into the weekend.
- Meanwhile, senior Marco Gonzalez continues to be a catalyst for the Rebels' attack with an assist in each of their past three outings, including the setup on Kyra's last two goals.
- Two of the Rebels' three wins this season came off late scores, as it received game-winning goals from Gonzalez in the 85th minute of the season opener against the Zags and Kyra in the home opener 89th minute vs. the Tritons.
- Senior Nicolas Likulia, a transfer from Evansville, tallied UNLV's only other goal on its home turf this season and ranks second on the team with three goals and this season.
- The Rebels return defender Billy Jones and midfielder Bailey Letherman, who were both named WAC Second Team All-Conference in 2020.
- Additionally, the Scarlet and Gray welcome back WAC All-Conference honorable mention selections Claudio Gabriel and goalkeeper Miguel Duenas Jr., as well as All-Freshman Team honoree Louis Hiepen from last season.
- Head coach Rich Ryerson is in his 12th year as leader of the Rebel men's soccer program.
