Rebels Tied For Fifth After Day One In Albuquerque

First two rounds of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate played on Friday.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) The UNLV men's golf team shot an opening-round 6-under-par 282 and a second-round 14-over 302 on Friday during the first day of play at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate which is being hosted by New Mexico at the UNM Championship Course (par 72, 7,555 yards).

BYU leads the 18-team event at 21-under 555, followed by New Mexico in second at 10-under. San Diego and New Mexico State are tied for third at 2-under, while there is a three-way tie for fifth between UNLV, Loyola Marymount and Colorado at 8-over.

New Mexico State's Aidan Thomas holds the individual lead at 11-under 133 with New Mexico's Sam Choi in second at 8-under.

UNLV junior George Leigh led the Rebels and is in a tie for 12th at 1-under 143 after rounds of 5-under 67 and 4-over 76. There are a total of 100 golfers competing.
