LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV cross country team will compete at the 2022 Santa Clara Bronco Invitational Saturday, October 15, for the last regular season meet before the Mountain West Conference Championships at the end of the month.
The meet, which is being contested at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, California, will begin with the men's 8k and women's 6k which are slated for 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively.
The Santa Clara Bronco Invite will feature teams from all over California, Nevada and Utah including MW rivals San Jose State, UNR and Fresno State along with UNLV, as well as Pac-12 teams Cal, Stanford and USC. The Rebels will compete against a total of 248 individuals in the women's 6k.
LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Natalia Ruiz led the entire women's 5k event at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational from start to finish, with a first place time of 18:08.4. Junior Isabella Schrader came out with a season best of 20:01.9, followed by senior Mackenzie Moss (20:54.3), freshmen Abigail Danlag and Nicole Boskovich finished with a 21:07.8 and 22:02.0, respectively.
REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARDS
- Natalia Ruiz received the first weekly award for the Scarlet & Gray (Oct. 11) earned MW Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after finishing first individually out of 35 runners at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational with a time of 18:08.4, 17 seconds ahead of second place (18:25.4).
